Free Resources And Downloads

Nasty weather in the Pacific Northwest can strike anytime between October through early spring. Sometimes residents get ample warning, sometimes not. The downloads below are a sample of what you can use to be sure you'll be ready.
The links we've provided will either take you to another web site where you can download the documents or software, or will connect you directly to the download site. Depending on what kind of browser you use, you can either left or right click on the link and you'll have the option of running the program from it's current location or saving it to your hard drive. Save it to your hard drive and then run it from your computer. If you have problems downloading or installing, let us know and we'll try to help! Here's a few you might like (all of these are Windows programs):

A disaster preparedness coloring book for kids helps children understand how to be prepared when any kind of disaster strikes.

An emergency preparedness checklist that you can print out to help you respond quickly when disaster strikes.

A printable, comprehensive checklist of items you should have on hand at all times.

The winter driving fact sheet is a must-have for Pacific Northwest residents. In printable format.

InterWarn is a neat shareware program that gives you all kinds of real-time information including warnings, current conditions, forecasts-for your area or anywhere in the U.S. Not all the functions are usable in the shareware version but it's pretty neat. And it's definitely worth paying the fee to get the full version!

72 Hour Preparation is a shareware program that helps you put together a plan to be prepared for weather-releated (or any other) emergencies. Although not fully functional, the shareware program is still quite useful.

Recover 72 is a simple yet fun game where you have to restore power, water and phones to a community after a disaster. It's not as easy as you think!
